Learning Number Sense is the most needed skill to engage in math beyond simple arithmetic and it begins in the early years when we are first introduced to numbers. Number Sense builds a solid foundation for math so that one doesn’t learn to rely on rote memorization and simple recall that’s not useful in math beyond the primary grades.
