I began my teaching career in a medical school and worked my way down through the primary grades; It was in these lower grades where I truly learned to appreciate the learning process the most! I went from conducting research for the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, to teaching phonics to my daughter who was struggling to read by the end of first grade. As a result of this learning hiccup in her first year of schooling, she ended the school year with a huge gap and had to be retained. I knew there was work to be done and I had to be the one to do it. This is where my homeschooling experience began.
